Innovative Cooling for a Greener Future
At Telehouse Canada, we are redefining energy efficiency with advanced cooling solutions that reduce environmental impact while ensuring top-tier data centre performance. Our facilities at 151 and 250 Front St. W in Toronto leverage Enwave’s Deep Lake Water Cooling System (DLWC), an innovative technology that uses the cold temperatures of Lake Ontario to cool our data centres.
The system utilizes water at 4C from the bottom of Lake Ontario to cool our data centres. Heat transfer technology takes the heat generated by our data centres and other Enwave customers facilities to provide sustainable heat for the City of Toronto’s drinking water.
This solution reduces our electricity use by 80% and displaces 55 MW of energy from Toronto’s electrical grid annually – the equivalent of powering 40,000 households.
The use of Enwave’s Deep Lake Water Cooling System (DLWC) significantly contributes to Telehouse Canada’s low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.3. By leveraging the naturally cold temperatures of Lake Ontario instead of mechanical cooling systems, the DLWC minimizes overall power consumption and improves efficiency.
